[ENG] McLove is a work on 2 global symbols. The McDonald’s arch has become a symbol of capitalism and globalization since it is the logo of one of the most prominent American company. The heart sign is a very old symbol that has been used in many cultural and religious contexts. It is associated with union and love.
Both symbols have in common to be global, to be constructed on soft curve shapes ( no straight lines, no angles) and to be symmetric. I use these similarities to transform and superimpose them. In some pieces, I also combined these graphic transformations with an accumulation of images downloaded from the Internet thru keywords, to construct a kind of ironic visual tautology.

L’arche McDonald’s est devenu un symbole du capitalisme et de la globalisation puisque c’est le logo d’une des plus importantes entreprises américaines. Le signe cœur est un très vieux symbole, utilisé dans différents contextes culturels et religieux. Il est associé à l’union et l’amour.
Ces 2 symboles ont en commun d’être globaux, d’être construits sur des courbes douces (ni angles, ni lignes) et d’être symétriques. J’utilise ces similarités pour les transformer et les superposer. Dans certaines pièces, je combine aussi ces transformations graphiques avec une accumulation d’images, obtenues d’Internet à partit de mots clés, pour construire une sorte de tautologie visuelle et ironique.
